{"id":1347,"date":"2013-06-21T02:06:06","date_gmt":"2013-06-21T02:06:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/drmirkin.com\/recipes\/morningmush.html"},"modified":"2013-06-21T02:06:06","modified_gmt":"2013-06-21T02:06:06","slug":"morningmush","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/drmirkin.com\/?p=1347","title":{"rendered":"Morning Mush"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Contributed by eZine reader Dr. Robert Rodensky, who notes that it may look a little disgusting but it&#8217;s delicious!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Dry ingredients:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n1\/4 cup Bran Buds<br \/>\n1\/4 cup mixed nuts and seeds<br \/>\n1 teaspoon flaxseed (whole, crushed or ground; optional)<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Moist ingredients:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n1\/3 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)<br \/>\n2 teaspoons dark cocoa powder<br \/>\n1\/4 cup cooked whole grains (barley, brown rice, wheatberries, oats, whatever you prefer)<br \/>\n1\/4 cup yogurt (plain or flavored)<br \/>\n1\/3 cup pomegranate juice<br \/>\n1 teaspoon sugar or honey to taste (optional)<\/p>\n<p>Mix the dry ingredients in a cup and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Stir all of the moist ingredients in a bowl. When you are ready to eat, stir in the dry ingredients.<\/p>\n<p><em>1-2 servings<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Variations: You can substitute or add your own favorite ingredients &#8212; fruits, nuts, cereals &#8212; and adjust the quantities to suit yourself.
