MYCOPLASMA RESISTANT TO DOXYCYCLINE
A study from Sweden shows why venereal diseases are often difficult to cure. The authors showed that almost 70 percent of people infected with mycoplasma were not cured by doxycycline, but all were cured with azithromycin.
Anyone with burning on urination, a feeling like they have to urinate all the time and urgency when their bladders are full should be checked for venereal diseases. Even if no laboratory test reveals a cause, symptomatic people exposed to a venereal disease should be treated at least with a long-acting erythromycin-type antibiotic.
